AGHAGALLON - Growing and Learning Together

PRIMARY THREE & FOUR

On Monday 18th Nov P3/4 had a visit from local author, Declan Carville. The listened to the story of The Magic Harp and did a book review. They then asked Declan questions about his books and the illustrations. The children really enjoyed themselves.

P3/4 enjoyed our art session with Sinead McDermott. We celebrated everyone’s differences and the importance of showing respect to each other. We painted our odd socks with bright colours.

Today we celebrated anti-bullying week. We wore our odd socks to highlight everyone’s differences.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

We used 2d shapes to create our own witches. We discussed what shapes we chose and why.

Yummy chocolate apples with marshmallows….. we melted the chocolate and dipped the apples into it. Then we added marshmallows…. Delicious.

A LOT of fun was had in P3/4 when played the traditional bobbing apples game. Let’s just say Mrs O’Neill won’t need her hair washed tonight.

Take a quick Look at what our children have been up to over the past few weeks…..

P3/4 are ready for Halloween….. we had some spooky witch’s brew for our golden time and decorated our classroom……

in P3/4 we used Just2easy App to present Data on a bar chart. We used tallies to gather the data and printed the total number beside each item on our chart. We then saved and printed these.

We used the same app to write and present our non-chronological reports.

Our children worked on syllables and using this strategy to help spell some multi syllabic words. We clapped, jumped, stamped and even danced out the syllables to each word….

Getting into the Halloween spirit in P3/4. We chose colours to suit our theme and then blended these to give the impression of a creepy Halloween night’s sky. We started with 1 colour and added black to make it darker and white to make it lighter.  We then used silhouettes of witchs, cats, ghosts and bats. We even created our own graveyard using black markers. Very effective!
